On September 2, 2026, during a working visit to Moscow, Oleg Lakoba, Executive Director of the International Cultural and Business Center of the Republic of Abkhazia met with contractors to coordinate the implementation of the concept for the museum and exhibition display of the national pavilion.
The exhibition space will include historical and cultural sections reflecting the unique character of Abkhaz culture and everyday life. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the nature, culture, and history of the Republic of Abkhazia using modern multimedia technologies. The country's resort and tourism potential will also be highlighted.
The central hall is planned to host concerts, seminars, and other public events.
A joint exhibition with a partner organization is planned, showcasing the cultural and historical ties between Abkhazia and Russia.
Repair work carried out by VDNKh contractors is currently ongoing. The Abkhazia pavilion has not been handed over to the Abkhaz side due to the need to address deficiencies. The facility's acceptance and transfer will take place following a decision by the bilateral commission. The exhibition's construction is being carried out to save time and expedite the facility's commissioning, noted Oleg Lakoba.
