On August 4, 2026, an awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up of the Abkhazia Domino Championship was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Tarash Khagba, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Youth and Sports, and Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia participated in the ceremony.

Said Ashuba became the Champion of the Republic of Abkhazia. Ainar Pilia won the silver medal, and Almas Gabunia won the bronze medal.

At the awards ceremony, Tarash Khagba congratulated the athletes on their victory and praised the participants' level of preparation. He also praised the Abkhazia national team's preparation for the World Domino Championship, which will be held in October in Spain.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Manuel Oquendo, President of the International Domino Federation for his continued support of the national federation.

Tarash Khagba also thanked the country's leadership, represented by the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, for their comprehensive support of the project to host the 2027 World Domino Championship in the Republic of Abkhazia.

Tarash Khagba also particularly noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' assistance in visa and other matters that facilitate the participation of Abkhaz athletes in international competitions.

Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits, addressing the ceremony participants, noted that promoting the Republic of Abkhazia, its sports, culture, and youth ties remains a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Oleg Bartsits emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia is ready to provide all possible assistance and contribute to the development of sports and youth policy in Abkhazia.

Following the meeting, the champions were ceremoniously presented with medals, cups, and certificates of honor.
