Akhsar Dzhioyev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent a letter of gratitude to Khibla Amichba, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Federal Republic of Germany for his initiative in disseminating of objective information about the events of August 2008.

It is noted, in part: "Your work in representing of the interests of the Republic of Abkhazia on the international stage requires not only high professionalism and diplomatic tact, but also enormous dedication. In a complex geopolitical environment, your work is key to conveying truthful information about Abkhazia, its history, culture, and aspirations to a European audience. We closely follow your efforts to strengthen the Republic's position and highly appreciate every achievement along the way.

We would like to take this opportunity to particularly emphasize the friendly and fraternal ties that bind the Ossetian and Abkhaz peoples. Throughout our shared, sometimes difficult, recent history, we have always stood shoulder to shoulder. Together, we defended the right to live on our land, preserve our identity, and build a sovereign future. This military friendship and solidarity were forged in trials and became the unshakable foundation of our interstate relations today. For us, supporting Abkhazia is an unconditional moral duty, just as supporting South Ossetia is a sacred obligation for the Abkhaz people.

I am confident that our cooperation in all areas will continue to strengthen and develop for the benefit of current and future generations.

Your work far from your homeland makes an invaluable contribution not only to the international recognition of Abkhazia, but also to the common cause of strengthening of the entire community of friendly states."

Akhsar Dzhioev wished Khibla Amichba good health, boundless energy, success in his important mission, and all the best to the fraternal people of Abkhazia.
