On June 11, 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Zaur Gvadzhava participated in the official ceremony to mark Russia Day at the invitation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.

The ceremony took place in Caracas at the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

The ceremony was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Iván Gil Pinto, and the Russian Ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov. Ambassador Zaur Gvadzhava personally congratulated the head of the Russian diplomatic mission on this significant national holiday.

The ceremony was also attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Venezuela, officers of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, and media representatives.
