On September 5, 2026 at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela attended a formal ceremony marking the 205-th anniversary of Central American independence.

The event took place at the National Pantheon in Caracas. The ceremony was led by Daysi Torres Bosques, the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua, and José Andrades Alvarado, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Honduras.

Also in attendance were Mauricio Rodríguez, Venezuela’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Latin American Affairs; Rander Peña, Executive Secretary of ALBA; and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.

On September 15, 1821, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica put an end to Spanish colonial rule. This date marks a crucial milestone in modern history and serves as an occasion to strengthen national identity and mutual respect.
