A meeting was held in the Russian Federation between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Jesús Rafael Salazar Velázquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Abkhazia at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia.

On May 22, 2018, Ibrahim Avidzba, Plenipotentiary Representative of Abkhazia to Turkey met with the mothers of soldiers who fell in the 1992-1993 Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia and female veterans visiting Turkey as part of the Abkhaz delegation at the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey. The meeting was also attended by members of the delegation: Bastakua Agrba and Astamur Bagatelia, Deputy Chairmen of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Repatriation; Tengiz Ankvab, Deputy Director of the Repatriation Fund; Irina Lasuria, Chief Specialist of the General Department; and Narsou Salakaya, Member of the People's Assembly-Parliament.

Odyssey Bigvava, Deputy Foreign Minister and Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to Russia participated in the meeting. Oleg Bartsits awarded Andrey Sergeev a Certificate of Gratitude from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his long-standing support of initiatives aimed at developing of Abkhaz-Russian cooperation. In the context of developing Abkhaz-South Ossetian relations, in a conversation with Taimuraz Tadtayev, the Minister noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia in various areas, including interparliamentary cooperation. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Today we celebrate the 33-rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia. On May 17, 1993, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia adopted the Resolution "On the Establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia," signed by Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, Vladislav Grigorievich Ardzinba.
